Tinelli Named NJCAA All-American

ARNOLD, Md. – Anne Arundel Community College sophomore women's soccer player Tina Tinelli has been named an NJCAA All-American, it was announced this week. It is the first All-America honor for the defender, who was named to the Second Team.

Tinelli, a two-time NJCAA Region 20 First Team honoree, helped AACC to its first Division II NJCAA national tournament appearance this season, earning all-tournament honors. The Riverhawks allowed opponents just 10.83 shots per game and recorded six shutouts.

"Tina was one of the main reasons for the success that our program has enjoyed the past two seasons," said Head Coach Jim Griffiths. "In addition to being a great defender, she does all the intangible things that make her an excellent leader both on and off of the field. Tina is definitely one of the top defenders who has ever played at AACC."

Tinelli started all 34 games for the Riverhawks in her two-year career, scoring nine goals and adding six assists. This season, she scored four goals including the game-winner in a key divisional matchup at Garrett, and added six assists. Tinelli's free kick goal from 36 yards out in the 2023 Region 20 championship game will forever be a shining moment in Riverhawks history.

A 2023-24 NJCAA All-Academic First Team honoree, Tinelli plans to graduate in the spring with a degree in cybersecurity.
