
COLUMBIA, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to six games with a 5-0 victory at Howard Community College in NJCAA Region 20 divisional play Saturday. Emma Miga scored two goals and added two assists.
Jaylin Sheffield scored a goal and assisted another; Holly Wall and Tina Tinelli each scored a goal for the Riverhawks, who improve to 9-2-1 overall.
AACC outshot Howard, 26-0, in the first half, and built up a 2-0 lead by halftime. Miga drove through several defenders before scoring unassisted in the fourth minute. Tinelli headed in a Miga corner in the 33rd minute for the two-goal lead.
Sheffield headed in a cross from Miga on the opening possession of the second half before Wall and Miga scored goals 10 seconds apart in the 66th minute.
Wall lofted in a ball from way outside the box for her first goal of the season, then Miga finished a give-and-go from Sheffield.
AACC keeper Péla Saunders made one save in the second half.
The Riverhawks held a 9-0 advantage in corners in the game.
Next up for AACC is a 5 p.m. home game against Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday, October 8th.
