ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to five games with a 5-1 victory over visiting Carroll Community College Tuesday evening at Siegert Field. Emma Miga had a hat trick and an assist for the Riverhawks (8-2-1).

Carroll (3-5-1) got on the board first as Haley Greenwade headed in a corner from Talula Castanzo in the fourth minute.

Miga knotted the game in the 30th minute after stripping the ball from a defender and splitting another two Carroll backs.

Makenzie Boyd tucked a left footer just inside the near post to give AACC a 2-1 lead in the 37th minute. Miga made it 3-1 in the 42nd minute popping in the rebound off a Tina Tinelli free kick from just outside the box.

Miga completed the hat trick in the 62nd minute after again eluding a defender, this time hitting the ball into the far corner.

Tinelli closed the scoring in the 82nd minute by redirecting a pass from Miga at the goal mouth.

Riverhawks keeper Péla Saunders made four saves to move to 3-0 on the year. Her counterpart, Brooke Turner, made nine stops for the Lynx.

AACC outshot Carroll, 22-7, and held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Up next for the Riverhawks is a 12 p.m. divisional game at Howard Community College on Saturday, October 5.
