BALTIMORE, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team knocked off No. 18 CCBC Essex, 2-0, Thursday evening at CCBC Essex Stadium. The Riverhawks outshot the Knights, 18-10, in the game, including a 9-3 split in the second half.

In the 34th minute, Bathras passed ahead to Miga as she stepped around a defender and scored past the diving Essex keeper.

Miga worked around a defender to play a cross back to Boyd for a one-timer in the 76th minute.

AACC was awarded a penalty kick in the 88th minute, but the Riverhawks' attempt was punched away by Knights' keeper Astou Diongue and the attempt of the rebound sailed high over the net.

Holly Wall made three first-half saves to earn her second solo shutout of the season.

The Riverhawks held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks and committed just three fouls to the Knights' 13.

AACC is back in action at home on Tuesday when they host Carroll Community College in a 5 p.m. divisional game at Siegert Field.
