LA PLATA, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team came back from an early one-goal deficit to tie host College of Southern Maryland, 1-1, in NJCAA Region 20 divisional action Tuesday afternoon.
Playing in a total downpour for the entire 90 minutes, AACC gathered its composure after giving up a goal to the Hawks in the opening minutes of the game.
AACC (4-2-1) outshot CSM by a wide margin in the second half, finally finding the back of the net off a shot from Emma Miga. The goal marked the first of her career.
Riverhawks goalkeeper Holly Wall moved to 2-2-1 with seven saves in the game.
AACC continues NJCAA Region 20 divisional play Thursday with a 5 p.m. home game against Frederick.
