Women's Soccer Wins Twice at Cougar Classic

HOLYOKE, Mass. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team won a pair of games over the weekend at the Cougar Classic hosted by Holyoke Community College. AACC defeated New Hampshire Tech, 1-0, on Saturday, and downed Fashion Institute of Technology, 2-0, on Sunday.

Rhyan Uzarek scored the lone goal for the Riverhawks against NHTI Saturday. Riverhawks keeper Péla Saunders made 11 saves in the clean sheet.

On Sunday, AACC got on the board early in the first half on an unassisted goal from Jaylin Sheffield. Makenzie Boyd made it 2-0 in the 89th minute with a penalty kick goal. Saunders finished with one save in each half.

The Riverhawks (2-1) host Division I Hagerstown in AACC's home opener on Thursday, September 5, at 5 p.m.
