Four From Women's Soccer Named All-Region 20

ARNOLD, MD. – Four members of the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team have been named to the 2023 NJCAA All-Region 20 Women's Soccer Teams, it was announced this week. Freshmen Makenzie Boyd and Tina Tinelli were named to the First Team. Freshman Megan Miller earned a spot on the Second Team, and sophomore Aiyanna Pullins was named Honorable Mention.

Boyd, a midfielder, directed the Riverhawks' offense, and ranked fourth in the Region with 10 goals and 24 points. She had a pair of hat tricks and scored four game-winners on the season.

Tinelli anchored the Riverhawks' defense that held opponents to a .127 shot percentage and an average of fewer than 10 shots per game leading to seven shutouts on the season. Offensively Tinelli scored five goals and recorded a pair of assists, netting goals in both the semifinals and championship games of the Region 20 tournament.

Miller, a midfielder, was a key player in the Riverhawks set pieces as well in the prominent transition game. Miller recorded three assists on the season, including one in the Region semifinals.

Pullins, a two-year starter at outside back bolstered the Riverhawks' stingy defense, and was tasked with marking the opponent's top scorer. Offensively, Pullins scored a goal and added an assist.

In their first year in Division II, the Riverhawks advanced to the Region 20 championship game, falling to top seed CCBC Essex late in overtime. AACC finished 8-5-3, winning the most games since the 2017 campaign.
