
LA PLATA, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team picked up its first NJCAA Region 20 division win Wednesday with a 63-49 win at the College of Southern Maryland. Three Riverhawks netted 16 points in the win including sophomore Devon Marshall, who added 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
Marshall went 2-for-3 from three-point range, pulled down 12 defensive boards, and had three assists and three steals. Ryan Stacy also scored 16 points, while Zef Fuanya added 16 points and three assists off the bench.
Angelo Harris led the Riverhawks with a career-high four blocks on the night and finished just shy of a double-double with eight points and 10 boards.
The Riverhawks held a 13-point advantage headed into halftime and fended off a late comeback attempt by the Hawks.
AACC held CSM to 26.1% shooting (18-69) on the night – the best defensive numbers for the Riverhawks so far this season.
AACC is back in action on Wednesday, December 11, hosting Harford at 7 p.m. at CCBC Dundalk.
