Balanced Attack Leads Men's Hoops Past Penn Highlands

WESTMORELAND, PA – Another balanced effort from the Anne Arundel Community College men's basketball team led the Riverhawks past Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, 81-50, Saturday afternoon at the Westmoreland Tip Off Tournament.

Michael Cantrell led the offense with 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists while blocking a pair of shots. Jamar Young added 11 points to go with seven boards. Davon Jones and Michael Sullivan each added 10 points. Joseph Chase filled the stats sheet with six points, nine boards, three steels, and an assist.  

AACC (2-1) took a 43-29 lead into halftime and outscored Penn Highlands, 28-21 in the second stanza. Overall, AACC shot 51.6% from the floor and grabbed 70 rebounds (40 defensive).

The Riverhawks open MDJUCO play when they host Chesapeake Wednesday, November 13th at 7 pm.
