Game Notes

            Despite a solid first half, the Riverhawks struggled to finish – dropping, 62-47, to the Avengers of ASA College this past Thursday night (1/18).

            The two teams battled pretty evenly the first half and despite AACC holding a small lead for the majority of the time, the Avengers were able to edge themselves a 1 point lead (27-26) as the two teams headed into the locker room at intermission. Each team was scoreless from beyond the arc in the first half (AACC: 0-5, ASA: 0-7) and nearly identical on the floor (AACC shooting 37.5% and ASA shooting 35.3%). Terry Kenner (Glenn Dale, MD/DuVal) and Jacoby Rojas (San Angelo, TX/Northeast) each netted 10 points in the first.

            The second half continued with an even battle, but the Avengers were able to pull away. The Riverhawks struggled with some turnovers and missed opportunities, which gave ASA the room they needed to secure the win.

            Rojas matched his first half of 10 points and finished with 20 on the night, and Kenner held to just 4 in the second – finished with 14 on the night.

            Looking to break their eight-game losing streak, the Riverhawks will have a Regional & Conference match-up against the Lakers of Garrett College. Tip-off is scheduled for this Saturday (1/20) at 6:00 pm in the CARC Gymnasium of the Garrett College campus in McHenry, MD.
