Mandy Jellerichs Named Women's Cross Country Coach

ARNOLD, Md. – Anne Arundel Community College Athletics announces the hiring of Mandy Jellerichs as head coach of the women's cross country program, which will begin competition in the fall of 2025.

Jellerichs is no stranger to the Arnold, Md. campus, as she is also an adjunct professor in the School of Health, Fitness and Exercise Studies and in the School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.

"I am excited to coach the AACC women's cross country team, said Jellerichs. "It is a great opportunity to motivate and guide student-athletes to improve their performance while also growing as an individual."

"I'm looking forward to growing the program, fostering a competitive environment, and encouraging students to prioritize their college experience as a student-athlete," she added. "It is also an exciting opportunity to connect with our community and promote health and wellness through running."

Jellerichs has been training multisport athletes of all ages since 2002 through her own company, Jellerichs Training Systems, specializing in training distance runners and triathletes.

"Coach Jellerichs demonstrates tremendous passion for the sport and has made a life out of coaching and participating in running events," said Athletic Director Duane Herr '07. "I am confident in her ability to generate that passion in our student-athletes through recruitment and development," he added.

Jellerichs is a lifelong runner and has completed more than 125 marathons, including 12 Boston Marathon finishes. She has also completed nine Ironman competitions. Jellerichs has served as an Achilles Foundation guide in the last seven New York City Marathons, and has also served as a pacer in the Houston and Las Vegas Marathons.

Jellerichs is also an instructor at the nearby YMCA, routinely leading courses in cycling, running, and strength training. She volunteers her time with the LightHouse Homeless Shelter in Annapolis and as a Discovering Abilities instructor.

Interested prospective student-athletes are invited to complete a prospective student-athlete form and attend an upcoming interest meeting: Wednesday, December 4, at 3:30 p.m. in GYM 105, or Thursday, December 5, at 12:30 p.m. in GYM 102.
