
ARNOLD, Md. – Two members of the Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team have been named All-Region 20, it was announced this week. Sophomore setter Mia Keen earned a spot on the Second Team, and sophomore libero Liv Valdez was named Honorable Mention. The accolades are the first for both student-athletes.
Keen played every set of every match for the Riverhawks this season and led the team in most offensive categories. She led the Riverhawks with 131 total kills, 61 service aces. Keen led the team with 3.55 assists per set, also good for 15th in Region 20. She recorded a career-high 17 kills to go with 17 assists and 21 digs at Carroll on October 12, and posted a pair of 25-assist efforts in wins at Chesapeake and Howard.
Valdez played in 68 sets across 19 matches for AACC this season, averaging 4.53 digs per set. She opened the season with a 33-dig effort at Chesapeake, and recorded 20+ digs in five matches. Valdez averaged 6.08 receptions per set and finished the season with a .928 reception percentage.
AACC advanced to the Region 20 Tournament for the sixth time in a row, finishing the season with an 8-12 overall record.
