HAMPTSEAD, Md. – Despite career-bests from several Riverhawks players, the Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team dropped a pair of Region 20 divisional matches in a tri-match at Carroll Community College Saturday. The Riverhawks (5-10) fell to host Carroll, 3-2, and lost to Allegany, 3-0.
vs. Carroll
Mia Keen recorded a career-high 17 kills, 17 assists, and 21 digs in the match. Lluvia Owens-Pabon added a career-high 15 kills and 16 digs. Nadia Suber recorded a career-high six blocks to go with nine kills. Liv Valdez recorded four aces to go with a team-high 23 digs. Bella Hadden had a career-high 16 assists
The Riverhawks won the second and fourth sets, and were up, 14-10, in the deciding set but the Lynx got five straight points off of Riverhawks errors to take the lead, 15-14. A block from Suber knotted the game, but the Lynx posted back-to-back kills to take the match.
vs. Allegany
Keen had five kills and 12 assists against the Trojans, who won by set scores of 25-12, 25-17, and 25-15. Suber added five kills, and Owens-Pabon had four to go with a team-high 14 digs.
Next up for AACC is a 7 p.m. match at Washington Adventist on Tuesday, October 15. The Riverhawks then close out the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday, October 16, in a 6 p.m. match against Montgomery at Jenkins Gym.
