Volleyball Splits Weekend Tri-Match

MONACA, Pa. – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team earned a split at a tri-match hosted by Community College of Beaver County Saturday afternoon. The Riverhawks defeated the host Titans, 3-0, before falling to No. 8 (DIII) Butler County Community College, 3-0, in the second match.

Against the Titans, AACC won each set by an identical 25-20 score. Mia Keen recorded six kills to go with 10 assists, three aces, and six digs. Julia Fox and Jadyn Brown each added five kills, with Fox also contributing a pair of blocks.

Lluvia Owens-Pabon totaled 12 assists in the match, while Liv Valdez recorded 14 digs.

Against the nationally-ranked Pioneers, errors plagued the Riverhawks as they fell by scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-20. Owens-Pabon led AACC with six kills. Mia Keen had nine assists and 18 digs to go with four kills. Josalin Courtney added five kills. Liv Valdez had 16 digs in the match.

Next up for AACC, the Riverhawks host Potomac State at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, in their "Set For Strength" game.
