CUMBERLAND, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team fell to host Allegany, 3-0, in Region 20 action Tuesday evening. The Riverhawks tied the third set late and looked to force a fourth, but a Trojans ace closed out the match.

Sabrina Sheppard led AACC with 14 kills, four acces, three block assists, and a solo block. Megan Helinski recorded 18 assists to go with a team-high 10 digs.

The Riverhawks tied the third set at 22-22 on a Sydni Smith ace – one of three on the day for the freshman, but an attack error on the Riverhawks let the Trojans pull ahead and they closed out the match with an ace.

AACC continues Region 20 action Saturday in a tri-match at Chesapeake with Cecil. The Riverhawks face Cecil at 1 p.m. and the host Skipjacks at 3 p.m.
