The Riverhawks earned a 1-0 shutout against the No. 8 ranked NJCAA DIII Region XIX Jersey Blues of Brookdale Community College this past Friday night (9/22).
Hosted at AACC, the Riverhawks played exceptionally well against their ranked opponents, outshooting them 8-5 in the first half. With four big saves, Brookdale was able to hold off the Riverhawks' offensive efforts – keeping the game scoreless after the first half.
Finding the net at the 58th minute of play, Angelina Horan (Annapolis, MD/Calverton) would grab the 1-0 lead for the Riverhawks, assisted from Madeline Stevenson (Severn, MD/Archbishop Spalding).
Action would continue on both ends of the field but neither team would score, allowing the Riverhawks to claim the 1-0 shutout victory.
