ISSUE, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's golf team played its inaugural event Thursday afternoon in a match hosted by the College of Southern Maryland at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club.

The team was only able to get in nine holes due to darkness, but the four-player roster of McKenzie Gilbert, Chloe Underwood, Zainab Rushd, and Arianna Whited made history as the first women's golf team to represent AACC on the course.

Gilbert highlighted the outing with a bogey on the third hole, hitting a long, straight drive before chipping back and sinking a long putt on the par-4 hole.

AACC is back in action on Thursday, April 10, in a 12 p.m. home match at the Golf Club at South River.
