Potomac State Gets Past Women's Basketball

ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College women's basketball team fell to visiting Potomac State Saturday afternoon in a close game, 60-50, in Jenkins Gym. The game featured nine ties and five lead changes.

Aichatta Soumaoro scored 21 points to go with nine rebounds for the Riverhawks. Lania Nick asdded 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and a pair of blocks. Ayannah Gorham pulled down a game-high 10 boards to go with a pair of steals and a block.

With the teams tied, 27-27, headed into halftime, AACC surrendered a three-pointer to the Catamounts to open the third before going on an 8-0 run. The teams traded leads twice late in the third before PSC went on a run to make it 45-40 at the end of the quarter.

The Catamounts used runs of 7-0 and 8-0 in the fourth to push ahead, leading by as many as 14 late in the game.

Prior to the game, AACC recognized its sophomore class.

After a 5:30 p.m. game at Hagerstown Monday, February 24, the Riverhawks close out the season in a 6 p.m. game at No. 4 CCBC Essex on Tuesday, February 25.
