Game Notes

The Riverhawks faced the full-force of the conference and region powerhouse, falling 113-35 against the NJCAA DI Region XX Fighting Owls of Harford Community College this past Wednesday evening (12/5). Playing on the undefeated Fighting Owls home court, it was a tough night for the Riverhawks – who traveled down a starter due to illness.

From the opening tip-off, Harford exhibited their fast-paced offensive and ability to finish by jumping out to the early lead. The Riverhawks were seemingly on an off-night from the floor which caused a detrimental combination with the Fighting Owls precision. With the shorten and modified line-up due to illness among the team, the Riverhawks still put forth the hustle to battle the whole game.

Karley Haensler (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) would finish with 14 points and 5 rebounds off the bench, and Sarah Healy (Davidsonville, MD/South River) would finish with 8 points while grabbing 15 boards. Healy is currently ranked second in the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) for rebounds per game (16.3), just .7 shy of the no. 1 spot.

Up Next

With a recent cancellation, the team will take advantage of the down time in hopes of recovering their roster and line-up to full health, as they're next contest is scheduled for December 10th. The Riverhawks will travel to face the NJCAA DII Hawks of Hagerstown Community College with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m. at the Hagerstown Community College campus in Hagerstown, MD.
