Men's Soccer Earns 3-3 Draw at Howard

COLUMBIA, MD. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team earned a 3-3 draw with host Howard Community College Saturday afternoon in NJCAA Region 20 divisional action.

Brian Guillen and Mani Awah scored for the Riverhawks.

AACC benefitted from a Howard own goal in the 22nd minute to take a 1-0 lead. Guillen scored on a penalty kick in the 36th minute and the Riverhawks carried the two-goal advantage into halftime.

Darian Paz cut the Riverhawks' lead in half with a penalty kick goal in the 51st minute, and Sam Santos tied the game in the 58th minute flicking the ball over the head of AACC keeper Jayeim Blake.

Awah gave the Riverhawks the lead in the 82nd minute by finishing a corner from Chris Moreira.

But the lead was short lived as Truce Norton redirected a throw-in just before time expired to tie it up, 3-3.

Howard outshot AACC, 30-22. Blake made a career-high 14 saves in the game. The Dragons also held a 15-1 lead in corners in the game.

Next up for AACC (2-6-1) is a 7 p.m. home game against Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday, October 8th.
