
ARNOLD, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team earned a 5-1 win over visiting Carroll Community College Tuesday evening at Siegert Field. Brian Guillen, Chris Moreira, and Ever Santos each had a goal and an assist for the Riverhawks, who move to 2-6 on the season.
Cheik Kangoute and Oliver Rivas also scored for AACC. Kangoute opened the scoring in the third minute with a one-timer off a pass from Guillen, but Carroll answered back just 13 seconds late with a goal from Julio Batista.
Rivas headed in a corner from Chris Moreira in the 14th minute for a 2-1 lead. Ednel Marchany played an inbound ball to Santos for a long shot he tucked inside the crossbar.
Guillen redirected a shot from Santos to make it 4-1 in the 51st minute, and Moreira capped the scoring in the 70th minute by rolling back a defender before firing left footed.
Riverhawks keeper Jayeim Blake made three saves in his first win of the season. James Stevens made 10 saves for Carroll (0-10).
The game was contentious at times, as the teams combined for 23 fouls and the center official handed out 11 cards on the evening.
AACC led in shots, 28-8, and held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Next up for the Riverhawks is a 2 p.m. divisional game at Howard Community College on Saturday, October 5.
