Men's Soccer Nets 2-2 Tie With Harford

ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team scored the game-tying goal in the 74th minute to earn a 2-2 draw with visiting Harford Community College in the season opener for both teams Thursday evening at Siegert Field.

Brian Guillen and Jose Rodriguez scored their first career goals for the Riverhawks. Ethan Belcher picked up his first career assist, and Malik Williamson added an assist.

AACC goalkeeper Michael Capo made five saves in his collegiate debut.

Guillen put AACC on the board in the 11th minute. As the Riverhawks were pushing steadily toward Harford's goal, Belcher tipped the ball to Guillen who one-timed a left footer past the Harford keeper.

Harford tied the game in the 28th minute and used a header off a long free kick in the 63rd minute to take a 2-1 lead.

AACC was again crashing the net late in the game as Williamson stretched ahead to take a shot on goal. The ball deflected off the near post to Rodriguez, who was sprinting in on the far side unopposed for the tap in finish.

The Riverhawks had seven shots on net in the game, while holding Harford to just five.

The Owls were whistled for 12 fouls and five yellow cards in the game, to AACC's five fouls and two yellows.

AACC is back in action on Tuesday in a 2 p.m. Region 20 game at Division I Hagerstown.
