GERMANTOWN, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team was edged late, 2-1, in the Riverhawks' season opener at Montgomery College Monday afternoon. Elijah Piper scored his first career goal for AACC.

After a scoreless first half that saw AACC keeper Ryan Smith make five stops, Montgomery got on the board in the 62^nd minute.

Trevor Militello assisted Piper's tally as the Riverhawks evened up the score in the 85^th minute, but Christopher Garcia gave the Raptors the go-ahead goal with just two minutes left to play.

Overall, Smith finished the game with eight saves, as Montgomery outshot AACC at a 23-8 clip. Both teams totaled six corner kicks.

AACC is back in action next week hosting Essex at 5 pm on Friday, September 6^th in the Riverhawks' home opener.
