Game Notes

The Riverhawk men's soccer team have had less-than ideal schedule changes due to weather recently, but were able to focus and take care of business against NJCAA DI Region XX Chesapeake College last night (9/18) – defeating the visiting Skipjacks 1-0.

A seemingly even match-up for the first half, both teams had failed to find the net and finishing with nearly identical stats with AACC goalkeeper Austin Noland (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) recording 2 saves. The second half would have the Riverhawks taking control of the play – creating many opportunities for themselves and outshooting the Skipjacks 10-1. Despite the ample AACC offensive opportunities, some impressive plays made by the Chesapeake goalkeeper would keep the match scoreless.

Noah Beall (Odenton, MD/Annapolis Area Christian School) would finally get the Riverhawks on the board, firing a second shot past Chesapeake goalkeeper after reacting to a deflection on his first attempt. The lone goal would be enough to earn the victory for the Riverhawks.

Up Next

The Riverhawks next match-up will be a scrimmage against the NCAA DIII Seagulls of Salisbury University on Wednesday (9/19) at 4:00 p.m. on the Salisbury campus.
