Game Notes
The NJCAA DI Region XX Fighting Owls of Harford Community College wasted no time in the team's season opener match-up last night, scoring just two minutes into the first half and taking an early lead over the Riverhawks.
Thirteen minutes later, with the momentum in their favor, Harford was able to add two more goals just minutes apart – giving them a 3-0 lead over the Riverhawks.
It was Noah Beall (Denton, MD/Annapolis Area Christian School) who would get AACC on the board, after following up his crossbar header with another header that was able to find the back of the net. The first half would end with the Riverhawks trailing 3-1.
The second half was a back and forth battle for the two teams with the Riverhawks looking to close the gap.
The Riverhawks were hoping to swing momentum in their favor when a Harford Yellow Card would allow a PK for AACC late in the second half. But a diving save by the Harford goalkeeper would hold the Riverhawks from scoring and the Fighting Owls would ultimately hold onto their 3-1 lead, securing their win.
