Men's Golf Second at College of Southern Maryland Match

ISSUE, Md. – The Anne Arundel Community College men's golf team finished second out of four teams Thursday in a Region 20 match hosted by the College of Southern Maryland at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club.

The Riverhawks finished four strokes behind top team Hagerstown with a combined +45 on the par-72, 6,395-yard course. The host Hawks placed third at +53, while the Carroll Community College team finished fourth at +82.

Tim Brophy finished second on the individual leaderboard with a 78 (+6), four strokes behind top finisher Chandler Mason of the host Hawks. Brophy recorded a pair of birdies on the day, one on the par-4seventh hole, and again on the par-5 17th.

Eddie Sarrach finished seventh overall with an 83, shooting par on four of the final five holes. Matt Crawmer finished with an 85 in a tie for eighth place, while Carter Lichok rounded out the scoring two strokes behind in a tie for 11th place with an 87.

Darren Hoffman birdied the final two holes to finish with a 90 to put him in a tie for 16th place overall. Four other Riverhawks played as individuals, led by an 88 from Jameson Haynes, who birdied the 14th and hit six pars on the day. Will Maddox closed out the back nine with four straight pars to finish with a 92, followed by Sam Thompson (94) and Danny Schell (96).

AACC takes a break from Region 20 action to travel to the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptor Spring Golf Invitational at the Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro, N.J. on Monday, April 7th. Tee time is set for noon. The Riverhawks then host a Region 20 match at The Golf Club at South River on Thursday, April 10, at 12 p.m.
