Potomac State Powers Past Baseball

ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College baseball team capped off the weekend hosting Potomac State at Skip Brown Field. The Catamounts, who came into the game on a six-game win streak, defeated the Riverhawks, 15-2.

Cam Rees broke up the Catamounts' no-hitter in the fourth with a single, collecting one of three Riverhawks hits on the day.

AACC's runs came in the next inning, seeing AJ Zeak advance EJ Santana to third with a double before Bradley Zoellner hit an RBI single into shallow center. Matt Johnson grounded into a double play that scored Zeak from third.

Starter Gavin Umphries shouldered the loss with five runs (four earned) on four hits in two innings of work. Relievers Preston Moltz and Dylan Dilts combined for five strikeouts in four innings. Skylar Kaplan struck out two in the seventh, but allowed three runs on a pair of home runs. Chris Paugh closed out the game, striking out the final batter.

AACC will look to get back in the win column in a doubleheader at Chesapeake on Thursday, April 22.
