Women's Lax Earns No. 2 Seed in NJCAA Championship

ARNOLD, MD – The top-ranked Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team has earned the number two seed in the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Championships, it was announced earlier this week. The Riverhawks will face third seed and host Onondaga in the semifinals Saturday, May 14, at 3 p.m.

AACC has recorded the most wins in the nation this season, and enters the tournament with a 6-3 record. The Riverhawks fell to second-ranked Harford in the Mid Atlantic District Championship, 18-6, on May 7 in Arnold, Md.

AACC and Onondaga (5-2) have met twice this season, with each team winning one game: the Riverhawks won, 15-4 in Syracuse on March 26, and the Lazers won, 20-15, on April 2 in Arnold. In the last five meetings, OCC leads the series, 3-2, though each team has won one game in Syracuse in the last five meetings.

AACC is making its 13th appearance in championship weekend since the sport began its sponsorship in 2004.

The winner of the 3 p.m. semifinal will face the winner of the other semifinal game between top seed Harford and fourth seed Genesee in the championship game on Sunday, May 15, at 1 p.m.
