#1 Women's Lax to Host #2 Harford in District Championship

ARNOLD, MD -- The top-ranked Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team is set to host No. 2 Harford in the 2022 NJCAA Mid-Atlantic District Championship Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11 am at Siegert Field. The Riverhawks defeated the Owls twice this season, winning 17-14 at home on April 5, and 15-14 in Bel Air on April 14.

Both teams will advance to the 2022 NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship at Onondaga Community College May 14-15, 2022, as the Mid-Atlantic District has two direct bids to the championship. 

AACC is led by freshman midfielder Madison Hobbs, whose 37 points r(anks second in the nation to Harford's Claire Ashburn. Hobbs has totaled 19 goals and a nation's-best 18 assists. Elsa Skinner and Savannah Reitz are tied atop the nation with 26 goals each. Skinner ranks third in the nation with 32 points, and is also tied for second in the country with 39 draw controls. AACC boasts three of the top five draw specialists as Hobbs and Reitz have corraled 38 draws each to rank tied for fourth. 

Madison Shaner leads the nation with nine free position goals in 10 attempts. She has totaled 19 goals and two assists this season. 

In net, Kaitlyn Evans ranks second in the nation with a 10.04 goals against average, and has logged more minutes between the pipes than any other keeper in the country (477:57).
