ARNOLD, MD – Two members of the Anne Arundel Community College volleyball team have been named All Region XX, it was announced today. Outside hitter Karen Bautista Carmona was named to the First Team, and libero Tara Gabrielsen was named Honorable Mention. The accolades mark the first for both student-athletes.

Bautista Carmona averaged 2.36 kills per set with 49 aces in 70 sets during her freshman campaign. She totaled 10 blocks in 22 matches and 1.86 digs per set. She recorded a career-high 18 kills in a 3-1 win over Howard on September 14. She was named to the Region XX Division III All-Tournament Team after totaling 11 kills and 14 digs in the tournament.

Gabrielsen anchored the Riverhawks defense with 3.39 digs per set in 21 matches. She added 47 aces, including a career high seven at Howard on October 12. She had four matches with 20+ digs, including a career high 23 against Howard on September 14.

AACC finished the season with an 11-12 record, posting the most wins since 2012.
