Adkins, Deans Named NJCAA All-Americans

ARNOLD, Md. – Anne Arundel Community College freshmen Grace Adkins and Ashlynn Deans have been named to the 2024 NJCAA Women's Lacrosse All-America Team, it was announced Tuesday.  The midfielders are the 57th and 58th All-Americans from AACC since the sport's inception in 2004.

Adkins led AACC and ranked 14th in the NJCAA with 25 points on 22 goals and three assists. She was twice named the NJCAA Player of the Week, first after her collegiate debut where she scored three goals on four shots and picked up four ground balls. She corralled five draw controls, and was strong defensively as well with a pair of caused turnovers. She earned the honor again in week five after scoring four goals and assisting another with four groundballs and three draw controls in a one-goal win over Monroe.

Deans ranked 16th in the NJCAA with 24 points on 22 goals and two assists. She was twice named the Region 20 Player of the Month. She earned her first award in March after scoring five goals on 10 shots with 11 draw controls, six groundballs, and six caused turnovers in three games. She repeated as the Region 20 Player of the Month in April with 12 goals and an assist with 12 groundballs, 12 draw controls, and nine caused turnovers in four games. She scored a career-high five goals against Harford on April 17.

AACC finished the season with a 5-4 record under Head Coach Jim Griffiths in his 21st season.
