ARNOLD, MD. – Anne Arundel Community College midfielder Julia Sokolowski was named the NJCAA Region 20 Player of the Month for April, 2023. The freshman totaled 32 points on 25 goals and seven assists in four games.

Sokolowski scored five man-up goals and recorded a team-high 33 draw controls. She scooped up a team high-tying 11 groundballs and had seven caused turnovers.

Against Monroe on April 8, she scored eight goals and assisted another. Against Harford on April 17, she scored nine goals and had three assists on just 10 shots on goal. In that game she also had a career-high 15 draw controls.

The monthly award marks the second-straight for the Riverhawks, as draw specialist Savanna Reitz was named the Player of the Month for March. Sokolowski was twice named NJCAA Player of the Week – once in March and once in April.

AACC won its third national championship to close out the season on May 14. It was the first national title for the Riverhawks women's lacrosse program since 2007.
