No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Secures Top Seed in NJCAA Tourney

ARNOLD, MD. – The No. 1 Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team has earned the top seed in the 2023 NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship, it was announced Monday. The Riverhawks (8-0) will face fourth seed and defending national champion Harford (0-7) in the semifinals Saturday, May 13, at 1 p.m. in Rochester, N.Y.

The meeting will mark the fourth time this season the Riverhawks have faced the Owls, with AACC winning each game by at least 14 goals. 

AACC returns to the national tournament for the 14th time, the most of any other women's lacrosse program in the NJCAA since the sport began its sponsorship in 2004. AACC's most recent title game appearance was in 2019 on the Riverhawks' home field. AACC has made seven appearances in the national title game since 2004 and won its most recent title in New York State (2007 – Herkimer, N.Y.)

The winner of Saturday's semifinal will face the winner of the other semifinal game between second seed Onondaga and third seed Monroe in the championship on Sunday, May 14, at 1 p.m.
