Sokolowski Earns 2nd NJCAA Weekly Award

ARNOLD, MD. – Anne Arundel Community College freshman Julia Sokolowski has been named the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played the week of April 17, 2023. The award marks the second this season for the midfielder who leads the nation in points (55).

Sokolowski scored nine goals and added three assists in No. 1 AACC's regular-season finale, an 18-4 win over visiting No. 4 Harford Community College on Monday, April 17. Sokolowski scored on five of six free position shots in the game, and also recorded 15 draw controls.

On the season, Sokolowski ranks second in the nation in both goals (39) and assists (16) in seven games. She also ranks second in draw controls with 50.

Sokolowski was previously named NJCAA Player of the Week for games played the week of March 26 after recording four goals and four assists on four shots in a win at NCAA Division III Keystone.

Of the seven weekly awards in 2023, the Riverhawks have earned four: Kaitlyn Evans (week of March 15), Sokolowski (week of March 22), Lyndsey Miller (week of April 5), and Sokolowski this week.

The top-ranked Riverhawks host Harford in the NJCAA Mid-Atlantic District Championship on Thursday, May 4, at Siegert Field.
