Miller Named NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

ARNOLD, MD. – Anne Arundel Community College midfielder Lyndsey Miller has been named the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games the week of April 3, 2023, it was announced Wednesday. Miller scored 11 goals and added two assists in the No. 1 Riverhawks' only game of the week, a 25-15 victory over No. 3 Monroe on April 8.

Miller scored three goals in a 33 second span in the first quarter, adding a fourth before 1:17 had ticked by on the clock. Her goals eliminated a 2-0 start by the visitors and sparked a six-goal spree by the Riverhawks.  

She added two goals in the second, including one of two man-down goals by AACC in the second quarter. In the third she sparked a seven-goal run that crossed into the fourth where she added three more strikes.

Miller also picked up a season-high 11 draw controls in the game.

The national leader in points with 41, Miller has scored 30 goals to go with 11 assists through the first five games of the season.

The weekly honor marks the third this season for AACC. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Evans took home the honors in Week 2, and Julia Sokolowski earned the award in Week 3.

 The undefeated Riverhawks host No. 2 Onondaga on Saturday, April 15, in a 4 p.m. game at Siegert Field.
