ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College's women's basketball team pulled off a 54-52 win over NJCAA DII Region 19 Delaware Technical Community College Monday night (11/28) in the Jenkins Gymnasium of AACC.
Although keeping it close, the Riverhawks trailed Del Tech through out the first two quarters. It wasn't until a crucial steal by Jasmine Wallace (Detroit, MI/Bladensburg) leading to a fast break and finish by Alesha Moses (Laurel, MD/Old Mill) did the Riverhawks find their first lead of the game, at the 9 minute mark in the third quarter.
After trading baskets and drives, it was the Riverhawks who came out on top, winning 54-52. With Wallace leading the Riverhawks with 17 points, Moses behind her with 15, and Alexxis Evans (Millersville, MD/Archbishop Spalding) with 14. AACC improves to 2-5 for the season as Del Tech drops to 3-6.
The Riverhawks next match-up is a home contest against NJCAA DII Region 20 Frederick Community College TONIGHT (11/30) in the Jenkins Gymnasium. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
