ARNOLD, MD – Pitcher Jaclyn Nevins has been named the Maryland JUCO and NJCAA Region 20 Division II Softball Player of the Month for games in April 2022. In 10 appearances at pitcher, she recorded a 5-2 record, including a 13-strikeout perfect game victory against Christendom on April 3.

Nevins recorded eight complete games and three shutouts in the month, recording four games with 10 or more strikeouts including a career-high 17 against CCBC Catonsville to end a 22-game losing streak to the Cardinals on April 9. Overall she recorded 81 strikeouts in 50.0 innings of work, including nine against Hagerstown and eight vs Chesapeake. Nevins allowed 27 runs on 39 hits and walked only 11 in the month.

Nevins also made eight starts at shortstop, recording nine extra-base hits including two home runs while going nine-for-nine in stolen bases.

AACC ended the season with a 22-15 record, posting the most wins since 2013. At home, the Riverhawks went 16-7.
