Hagerstown Sweeps Softball With Nightcap Walk Off

HAGERSTOWN, MD – After a 17 day stretch without a game, the Anne Arundel Community College softball team was swept at Hagerstown, falling 11-1 in five innings in the opener before falling 5-4 in the nightcap on a walk off home run.

The Riverhawks managed just two hits in the first game, seeing Sierra Fowler drive in AACC's lone run in the fifth.

AACC took a 1-0 lead in the second before Hagerstown rallied for two runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Rivherkaws scored twice in the fourth for a 3-2 lead, but the Hawks scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to retake the lead, 4-3. AACC tied it in the sixth, but a walk off home run sealed the game for Hagerstown.

Courtney Mauer drove in one run on a double in the game, while Sierra Fowler and Courtney Croson both went 2-for-3 in the game. Croson and Rhiannon Claw each stole a base.

AACC is back in action Wednesday in a 3 pm home doubleheader against Harford Community College.
