Catamounts Too Much for Softball

KEYSER, W.VA. – The Anne Arundel Community College softball team was blanked by host Potomac State College in an NJCAA Region XX doubleheader Sunday. The Catamounts held AACC to three hits on the day in 13-0 and 9-0 wins.

Jaclyn Nevins went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base to lead the Riverhawks.

Nevins's double came in the opener, but the freshman also took the loss on the mound as the Catamounts started hot right away with eight runs in the opening frame. Rhiannon Claw came on in relief, allowing one hit in the final 1.1 innings.

The Catamounts didn't let up the pressure in game two, tagging pitcher Kelsey Smith for five runs in the first. Smith went the distance for the Riverhawks, striking out two.

AACC is back in action on Friday, March 26th in a home doubleheader against Frederick Community College.
