ARNOLD, MD – Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer goalkeeper Edgar Garcia has been named the NJCAA Division III Goalkeeper of the Week for games ending August 28, 2022. Garcia made three saves in the No. 7 Riverhawks' season-opening shutout victory the College of Southern Maryland on August 25.

A sophomore from Glen Burnie, Md., Garcia made two first-half saves and one in the second half as the Riverhawks cruised past Southern Maryland, 4-0. The shutout marked the first solo shutout of Garcia's career. He is just one of six NJCAA DIII keepers to record a solo shutout this season.

Garcia and the Riverhawks are 2-0 on the season, having allowed just one goal in a pair of Region 20 wins. They are back in action on Tuesday, September 6, in a 4 p.m. Region 20 game at Chesapeake College.
