Four From Men's Soccer Named All-Region XX

ARNOLD, MD – Four members of the Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team have been named All Region XX, it was announced Friday. Sophomore forward Will Belcher, sophomore defender Jon Adams, and freshman goalkeeper Brenden LeMaster earned First Team honors, while sophomore forward Alex Calogero was named to the Honorable Mention team.

Belcher was a key transition playmaker for the Riverhawks, who finished the season with a 9-7-1 record and an appearance in the Region XX Semifinals. The honor marks the first for the sophomore, who started 16 of 17 games this season. Belcher earned All-MDJUCO honorable mention accolades as a freshman last year.

Adams started all 17 games in which he played at defense, anchoring a back line that allowed fewer than 12 shots per game. The sophomore was often tasked with guarding the opponent's top playmaker. Adams recorded an assist in a 4-1 win over Potomac State on October 5th.

LeMaster started 14 games in goal for the Riverhawks, posting a 1.41 goals against average to go with a .802 save percentage. He recorded three solo shutouts on the year, including a 1-0 win over Northern Virginia in the Region XX Play In Round. LeMaster recorded a career-high 12 saves in a 1-0 loss at Frederick on October 8th.

Calogero led the Riverhawks in scoring with six goals, including four game-winners. The sophomore's goals came in clutch moments, including in the 104th minute when he sealed the victory over the College of Southern Maryland on September 12th.
