Brent Orbell Named 2014 Men's Soccer All-American

AACC midfielder Brent Orbell earned the honor of making the 2014 NJCAA Division III All-American, second team in his freshman season.

As a team captain Orbell led the team with 11 goals, and five assists in 19 games for 27 points. Four goals proved to be game winners.

"I am happy for Brent. He has worked hard. His leadership helped our team's success this season. He is one of the most competitive players I have coached," said Coach Cosentino.

The Pioneers finished the season as the region tournament runner-up. Orbell and teammate Mason Kostick made first team all-region. Noah Heller and Juan Tamayo made second team all-region.

AACC has not had a men's soccer All-American since 2010 when Gianni Maruggi made the second team. The Pioneers were region runner-up that year as well.

Orbell also played baseball this past spring. He was the starting shortstop, with a .241 batting average, and had 10 stolen bases in 12 attempts. He also pitched in two games, striking out seven and had a 3.60 earned run average.
