Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past Carroll

ARNOLD, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College men's lacrosse team rolled past visiting Carroll Community College Wednesday, 23-3. Sam Weisshaar led the Riverhawks with five goals and two assists.

Among the 11 AACC players with a goal, NJCAA Player of the Week Trevor Collier scored four to go with three assists. Francis O'Hara scored four, and John Thibodeau rattled off seven assists to go with two goals. Sam Barrett returned to the lineup, potting two goals and an assist.

The Riverhawks' poles got in on the offensive outburst as Jacob Kotelchuck, Joe Threatt, and Mike Rogers all scored, and Brandon Grusholt had an assist. Julian Nobis scored his first career goal, and Ethan Wise scored his second goal of the year.

The Riverhawks led, 8-1 after the first quarter before scoring the next eight goals. Carroll scored back-to-back goals in the third, the first while man up. AACC closed out the game with seven-straight tallies.

Conner Westervelt played the first quarter before giving way to Griffin Tucker, who played the second and third quarters. Kolby Hood closed out the game playing the final 15 minutes.

AACC was perfect on clears (10-10) and committed a season-low 13 turnovers.

The Riverhawks hit the road Saturday for a 12 pm game at No. 4 Howard Community College.
