David O'Donnell Tabbed to Lead Golf Program

ARNOLD, MD – Director of Athletics Duane Herr has named Dave O'Donnell as head coach of the Anne Arundel Community College golf team.

"I am inspired by Coach O'Donnell's passion and commitment to the game of golf and the growth of student-athletes within the sport and in life," said Herr. "He clearly communicated his desire to build a strong program and has already taken great strides in fulfilling his goal to do so. I'm excited for the experience our student-athletes will soon enjoy."

O'Donnell grew up around the game golf, starting play at age seven at DuBois Country Club in Western Pennsylvania and later worked at the same club, while being a four-year member of DuBois Area High School's varsity golf team. He continued his golf career at Millersville University where he earned a degree in government and political affairs with an emphasis on international relations.

Coaching is in O'Donnell's blood as his father, Kevin, coached the PSU DuBois golf team after successful stints as head golf and wrestling coach at DuBois Area High School. Prior to joining the Riverhawks, O'Donnell previously served as the assistant girls' tennis coach at Hempfield High School in Landisville, Pennsylvania, and volunteered with First Tee of DC from 2012 to 2016.

"I'm looking forward to guiding student-athletes as they develop their skills and deepen their understanding of the lifetime benefits of the game of golf," said O'Donnell.

O'Donnell belongs to Rolling Road Golf Club in Catonsville, where he serves as captain of the club's Maryland State Private Golf Club Conference team and as member of the greens committee. Additionally, he holds memberships at Hershey Country Club – where he competes for the club's team in the Golf Association of Philadelphia Matches each spring – and Sunnehanna Country Club, the home of the prestigious Sunnehanna Amateur.

O'Donnell serves as the Director of Development for the Baltimore Public Markets where he oversees the revitalization of Baltimore's historic public market system. He and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Baltimore with their dog, Rooney.
