Conor Rice was named coordinator of student-athlete success in September, 2025. In this role, Rice oversees retention and academic support initiatives for AACC’s student-athletes, while also assisting with NJCAA eligibility compliance and transfer preparation.
Rice began his career with the Riverhawks in 2019 as an athletic assistant and was elevated to athletic specialist for outreach and events in 2023. He brings extensive experience in student-athlete support, compliance, and program development. During his time at AACC, he has worked closely with coaches and administrators to monitor academic progress, assist with eligibility certification, and coordinate campus engagement through themed game-day events and new student orientation presentations.
Prior to his work at AACC, Rice served as a part-time event coordinator and assistant women’s basketball coach at Howard Community College. In those roles, he coordinated game day operations, trained event staff, recruited student-athletes, and helped plan youth summer camps.
As Coordinator of Student-Athlete Success, Rice will advise more than 150 student-athletes annually, track degree progress, coordinate study hall and academic intervention efforts, and collaborate with faculty, coaches, and student services to ensure retention and graduation success. He will also manage student-athlete orientation, serve as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, and oversee the Swoop Stars engagement program.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Rice also earned an associate degree in general studies from Howard Community College.
