Women's Lacrosse Drops Pair of Top-3 Matchups

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The No. 2 Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team dropped a pair of top-three matchups in Upstate New York over the weekend. The Riverhawks fell to No. 1 Onondaga, 18-5, on Saturday, and were edged, 13-12, by No. 3 Monroe on Sunday.

Rian Dennis and Ashlynn Deans each had two goals and an assist against the Lazers Saturday. Grace Adkins scored a goal and had a team-high four groundballs. Goalkeeper Madi Spencer made 11 saves in the game.

AACC rallied from as many as four goals down against the Tribunes Sunday, and came back from a two-goal deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game with 9:50 remaining. But Monroe scored the go-ahead goal with 3:25 left to play to hold on for the win.

Adkins had four goals against the Tribunes, and Shelby Blanford added four goals. Tinna Mavica had a goal and an assist, while the Riverhawks got single goals from Deans, Dennis, and Mia Keen.

AACC closes out the regular season at home Wednesday in a 7 p.m. game against Harford.
