ARNOLD, Md. – Anne Arundel Community College freshman midfielder Grace Adkins has been named the NJCAA Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for games played March 18-24, 2024. Adkins filled the stats sheet as the top-ranked Riverhawks opened the season with a demonstrative road win.

In her first collegiate game, Adkins scored three goals on four shots and picked up four ground balls. She corralled five draw controls, and was strong defensively as well with a pair of caused turnovers.

AACC opened the season at NCAA Division III Centenary University on March 20, defeating the Cyclones, 16-0, for the Riverhawks' first shutout since April of 2018. The season-opening win marks the third in a row for the defending national champions. 

The Riverhawks are back in action on Wednesday, March 27, in a 6 p.m. game at No. 5 Harford, and then host No. 2 Onondaga on Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m.
