ARNOLD, MD – A late three-goal run by NCAA DII Post University dealt NJCAA third ranked Anne Arundel Community College women's lacrosse team a 15-13 loss Tuesday afternoon at Siegert Field. Back-to-back goals by Savanna Reitz knotted the game at 12-12 with just under seven minutes to play, but three Eagles goals within a minute put the game out of reach for the Riverhawks (1-1).

Reitz scored three goals and assisted another, while Elsa Skinner had three goals and two assists. Madison Hobbs scored twice and assisted two goals. Lacey Hinkle and Eva McCormick each scored twice. Oriana Crowley added a goal.

AACC struck first, scoring less than two minutes into the game, but Post answered back with a three-goal run. McCormick closed out the first quarter with her first of the day.

After Post increased its lead to 4-2 early in the second, AACC went on a three-goal run to take a 5-4 lead with 5:12 left in the half.Post scored twice in the final two minutes to carry a 6-5 lead into halftime, and added three more to extend the Eagles' lead to four, 9-5, midway through the third. Skinner and Hobbs cut the deficit in half with goals just over a minute apart before the teams traded scores to end the quarter with Post leading, 10-8.

AACC doubled up the Eagles in the fourth to tie the game at 12-12 with 6:54 left to play, but Post put up three goals in under a minute to retake the lead, 15-12. Hobbs brought AACC within two with 4:02 left to play and AACC had three consecutive free-position attempts with just over a minute left, but could not convert.

AACC goalie Kaitlyn Evans made eight saves in the loss as AACC outshot its visitors, 37-30. The Riverhawks led in draw controls, 19-11, as Hobbs grabbed eight and Skinner pulled down six.

AACC is idle until a two-game road trip to Upstate New York next weekend. The Riverhawks face No. 2 Onondaga on Saturday, March 26th and No. 4 Monroe on Sunday, March 27th.
