AACC to Host Region 20 DII Softball Tournament

ARNOLD, MD - Anne Arundel Community College is set to host the 2022 NJCAA Region 20 Division II Softball Tournament, beginning with a first round matchup against Howard Community College on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 1 & 3 p.m. The winner of the first round series will advance to the double-elimination round in Arnold, Md., May 12-14, 2022.

AACC earned the number four seed with a record of 8-6 in divisional Region 20 games. The Rivherhawks will host fifth seed Howard (5-9) in the first round. In their previous meeting this season, the Riverhawks defeated the Dragons on the road, 7-2 and 21-2 (5 innings). The winner of the first round series will face top seed Potomac State in game #1 of the double-elimination round, Thursday, May 12, at 2 p.m. at AACC. 

Potomac State earned the top seed with a 14-0 divisional record, while Hagerstown earned the second seed with a 12-2 record in division. Those two teams have a bye in the first round.

Third seed Chesapeake (8-4) will host sixth seed Allegany (0-10) in the first round in Wye Mills, Md. The winner of that series will face Hagerstown in game #2 of the double-elimination round, Thursday, May 12, at 4:30 p.m. at AACC.

Game #7, 2:30 p.m. - if necessary

Admission to all rounds of the 2022 NJCAA Region 20 Division II Softball Tournament at AACC is free. Free parking is available in Lot D or Lot M. Handicap parking is available in Lot L.

Concessions (cash-only) will be available during the double elimination round at AACC.
