Nevins Perfect in Sweep of Christendom

ARNOLD, MD – Freshman pitcher Jaclyn Nevins struck out 13 batters in a perfect game Sunday afternoon as the Anne Arundel Community College softball team swept visiting Christendom College, 17-0 and 17-1. Nevins faced the minimum 15 batters in game one, striking out seven in a row to start the contest, and fanning the final two to secure the milestone win.

The Riverhawks totaled 20 hits on the day, with Alyssa Smith going 6-for-6 with two RBI, seven runs scored, and a double. Skylar Storm went 5-for-6 with four RBI, while Ryann Brooks went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. AACC combined to take 24 walks on the day.

Kaleigh Hurd tossed a complete-game one-hitter in the second game, striking out three and walking one.

AACC, which has won the last seven of eight home games, hosts CCBC Catonsville in a key Region 20 doubleheader on Saturday, April 9 at noon and 2 p.m.
